Then and now
Sometime in the year 2022, we decided to close Hello Sweetie, our first joint business. This picture was our first anniversary after officially closing the business, so it was mixed with emotions. I had kicked off the "Adam Cooks Anything" food blog as a way to transition away from selling cookies and embracing recipes instead. Eventually that became "Adam cooks, Kathy bakes" because Adam's need to cook based on flavor, rather than directions, made it difficult to document any kind of recipe. While exciting for my taste buds, it was difficult for my recipe writing skills and I had to add some of my cookie recipes to make it work. But eventually, life got in the way of that too. I might try to revisit the food blog but most of my energies, when not handling the day job, will be focused on this new business Adam and I are starting. Oak and Skein is a combination of his wood working talents and my crochet skills and a desire we both have to create beautiful things. The initial energy started with gifts ideas for family and friends but we decided to share the gift ideas with everyone. Because we like including the family, we got Kaitlyn to help with some photography and the logo design and eventually, when I finish crocheting some of the men's scarf and hat sets, we will get Nathan started in modeling. Dawn, Leanne, and Stephanie gave style tips too. Hopefully, you can check us out at the Festival of Lights in Rose Tree Media on December 13th when we officially launch!
